Tanja Buzzi Moriarty earned a Communications degree from Southern Connecticut State University, focusing on journalism. She worked for several years as a reporter for the Middletown Press, a freelance writer for small publications and newsletters, publicity coordinator at a private high school, and two terms as Selectwoman of the Town of Haddam.
For a regular paycheck, Tanja is a development coordinator for St. Vincent De Paul Middletown where she she writes grant applications and manages the agency’s social media. Her alternate work is writing. Tanja is working on two memoirs: one follows the experience finding permanent housing for her homeless dad and the other is the journey of her first pregnancy while her husband was sent to Desert Storm.
She is a member of “WIP”a group that critiques members’ major projects for eventual publication.
Tanja, a Connecticut native, lives with her husband Sean and is the mother of two adult children.
